The project consists of playing fields and related support facilities for the baseball, softball and soccer programs at the College of Charleston. The support building for all three sports and attending fans is located on the site where the bleachers for all three playing fields form a triangle.
The first floor houses concessions and public restrooms as well as home locker rooms for the teams. The second floor contains locker rooms for visiting teams, press boxes overlooking each of the three fields, and a large multi-purpose room for team meetings, conferences, and the media during games. Additional outbuildings include a ticket building, dugouts, and a maintenance barn.
Adjacent to this site is a large marina complex adjacent to the Patriot’s Point Naval Museum. The entrance to the sailing center is defined by a series of elevated boardwalks. From the floating concrete dock supporting the building, there are two additional angled docks used to store the various classes of boats for the sailing team. The building itself is a simple structure which contains two work bays on the dock level used for boat repairs as well as classroom work and meetings. Storage for foul weather gear is located between the two work bays.
