The College of Charleston has outgrown the original facilities we designed for them two decades ago. As such, we began an intense feasibility study to assess the most cost effective way to improve their facilities. After evaluating multiple options, the best solution was to design a new locker room, fitness and sports medicine facility and perform minimal renovations to the existing on-site structures.
This 3-story, 20,000 sq. ft. building at Patriot’s Point will provide new locker rooms and showers for the baseball, softball and soccer programs. In addition, the new structure will house a training gym and sports medicine facility. The third floor houses coaches’ offices, balconies offering views of the baseball and soccer fields and a large multi-purpose room.
This study represents a marketing package that identified the athletic program’s needs, assessed a design and construction cost estimate and created a tool to aid in fundraising for the new building.
